Satsuma Group has won an Award of Excellence for its work on a quarterly magazine for construction client Anderson.

The team was given the accolade for Best Publication in the Institute of Internal Communications National Awards 2022 for its work on publication The Hard Hat.

The judges at the ceremony – held at The Brewery in central London – were impressed with the magazine statistics which include a readership of 4,500 per edition, more than 10,000 downloads and a 51.2% increase in social media followers.

Satsuma Managing Director Ellen Widdup said: “This is such an incredible achievement for our team – and for the team at Anderson who play a huge part in its creation

“We had an excellent time celebrating with other amazing companies in the field of internal communications at the event in London and just know this is the first of many awards to come for our organisation.

“We have a fabulous team of experts in a full range of creative disciplines and the work we do makes a real impact. Everything we do is measured so clients can see the real ROI on their spend.”

Our team of 13 include the former News Editor of the Evening Standard, former Deputy Features Editor of the Daily Express and social media influencers with a combined Instagram following of 25k.

Our work with Anderson includes PR, social media management and award entries, a website redesign and a newsletter.

Andrew Jay, CEO of Anderson, said: “The Hard Hat celebrates our business successes and our people. This was an idea I had that became a reality thanks to Satsuma’s hard work.

“They have worked on every edition from its inception – improving and enhancing the product as we evolve and increasing pagination to include the growing number of incredible stories from our team on site to our staff in the office and from our contractors, our clients and our suppliers.

“It’s constantly praised by the thousands of people who read it and I am immensely proud of the magazine and all it stands for.”
