Work Included

We provided support for a brand-new PR team, bringing with us a superb and long-running relationship with the press in East Cambridgeshire and existing relationships with the senior management team which we had worked with on and off since 2016.

We attended and reported on committees including Full Council and planning, producing live social media commentaries, reactive media statements and press releases. Our work extended to providing a comprehensive crisis communications plan and devising and delivering a number of creative campaigns.

Our support paved the way for a new PR team to find their feet in house.

Outcomes

Public sector comms is something we have a wide range of experience delivering and with ECDC we had developed a long-running relationship with the Head of Communications over a number of years working with them as part of another agency.

Members of our team had been a pivotal part of a communications service to support two General Elections, County Council elections, by-elections, the EU referendum and the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Mayoral election.

And during the COVID-19 pandemic, they were also responsible for delivering messages from Public Health England and the Department for Health around the Local Resilience Forum, PPE, lockdown measures, health and safety tips, testing and vaccinations.

Our Managing Director also developed an award-winning Michael Recycle campaign for the District to help it meet a 60% recycling target which revolved around the creation of a mascot through a school competition which had 250 entries and engaged with 32 schools. The campaign resulted in 600 requests for an extra blue bin over a four-month period.
