A Suffolk PR agency is celebrating after being shortlisted for two prestigious, national industry awards.

Woodbridge-based Satsuma Group has been recognised in the PRmoment Awards for the South, which celebrate excellence in the UK PR and Communications sector.

The talented team are in the running for a pair of awards – New Agency of the Year, and Employee Engagement Campaign of the Year.

Satsuma Managing Director Ellen Widdup said: “We’re delighted to have been shortlisted for not one, but two awards at this year’s PRmoment Awards.

“We pride ourselves in our team of experts, many who are former journalists. The beauty of Satsuma is that we take a completely remote, flexible approach, which has allowed us to build a team of the brightest and most innovative minds in PR and marketing.

“To be shortlisted for two such prestigious awards is testament to the amazing work we can do with clients due to this approach.”

The Employee Engagement Campaign of the Year nomination is the result of Satsuma’s work with Anderson, a leading construction and property development company, on The Hard Hat magazine.

The magazine has a readership of 4,500 per edition and has more than 10,000 downloads.

The New Agency of the Year shortlisting reflects the success Satsuma has achieved in a challenging climate.

Ellen added: “The working world changed considerably with the onset of the pandemic, accelerating existing trends in remote work and flexible working.

“But while many businesses returned to their previous incarnation post lockdown, Satsuma created a new way of working.

“Since we started a year ago with just two members of staff, we have brought together a diverse, dynamic and dedicated team of 11 people who may never have met, let alone had the opportunity to work this way, after being displaced from a workforce that failed to adapt to accommodate them.”

The agency provides PR and marketing, branding and design, social media management and website design and build and its clients include McDonald’s, the UK Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association and a selection of construction companies.

Based in Suffolk, Satsuma also has staff spread across the UK, working remotely and flexibly.

The ceremony for the PRmoment Awards for the South takes place on April 20 at the Park Plaza Westminster, London.
