We are celebrating after being shortlisted for yet another national accolade!

We are up for the New Kid on the Block gong in The Small Awards 2023, which celebrate the achievements of small businesses across the UK.

Our Managing Director Ellen said: “We’re delighted to be shortlisted in The Small Awards this year, especially because these awards celebrate the work small businesses do in the local community.

“At Satsuma we are committed to adding social value by contributing to the long-term wellbeing and resilience of individuals and the communities around us. We set aside time pro bono to support local charities, use local printers with a carbon-neutral approach and work on campaigns that support local community initiatives.”

According to the Small Awards, there are 5.8 million small businesses in the UK, who are often not recognised for their achievements due to geography, scale or awareness. Judges from the small business world, entrepreneurs, investors, public sector and media were involved in the shortlisting process.

Ellen added: “We’ve also created a new way of working, bringing together a diverse, dynamic and dedicated team of talent from across the UK.  We take a completely remote, flexible approach and our team includes former journalists and social media experts who are a blend of the brightest minds in the industry, including the former News Editor of the Evening Standard and the former Deputy Features Editor of the Daily Express.”

This nomination reflects our successful journey from dynamic pandemic start-up in 2021 to thriving, award-winning business, working with clients like McDonald’s, the UK Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association, Anderson and the Diocese of Ely Multi-Academy Trust.

Ellen added: “We have grown from two members of staff, into a diverse, team of 14 people.

“Being shortlisted for national awards really is testament to the amazing team we have at Satsuma and the phenomenal work we deliver.”

We offer PR, marketing and social media management to our clients, drawing on the collective media and communications expertise of our wonderful Satsuma segments.

We look forward to attending the awards ceremony, which takes place on May 18 at a black-tie dinner in London.
