Satsuma triumphed again at the East Suffolk Business Awards last night – winning the title of New Business of the Year.
The business was also a finalist for Growth Business of the Year and Tourism Campaign of the Year.
We have grown from two members of staff when we first launched in September 2021 to 13 in March this year – with two new starters joining us from Monday to boost the social media team even further. Keep an eye out for introductions to Kayley and Gemma from next week!
Judges at the East Suffolk Business Awards were impressed that throughout 2021/22 we have won an average of three clients each month and the list includes national companies including McDonald’s and the UK Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association, established firms in a range of sectors including construction company Anderson, two multi-academy trusts and public sector bodies including East Suffolk Council and North Norfolk District Council.
One of our most impressive campaigns was with ESC after it was awarded funding through the Welcome Back Fund. We were asked to create a six-month campaign focused on 12 key towns called Think Local and a sub-campaign for the Christmas shopping period.
Another of our clients is multi-disciplinary construction and property development company Anderson and we have produced tangible results including impressive national and regional media coverage, an increase in social media followers, a clear tone of voice across all communications and a raft of award wins.
Despite being only 15 months old, Satsuma won Best Small Agency of the Year in the CIPR Pride Awards and Gold for Best Publication. In addition, it scooped a national Award of Excellence in the Institute of Internal Comms Awards for Best Magazine.
We are also shortlisted for the FSB Awards and winners will be announced later this month – so watch this space!
Managing Director Ellen Widdup said: “I am incredibly proud of the amazing business we have created together. My team are simply phenomenal and our award success in our first 18 months of business prove we must be doing something right!
“As we continue to grow from strength to strength in 2023, we are excited that we have another couple of members of staff joining us for this ride – and are actively recruiting for content roles.”
By the way, we don’t just write cracking award entries for ourselves – we do it for our clients too. Right now, award submissions are open for the Suffolk Business Awards so if we can help you draft something that will make you stand head and shoulders above the competition, give us a shout!
