A Suffolk PR firm has been named best in the region after just a year in business.

Satsuma Group, which has its headquarters in Woodbridge, won Gold, named as the Small PR Consultancy of the Year in the CIPR PRide Awards 2022 for Anglia, Thames and Chiltern.

It also scooped the Gold award for Best Publication for its work on The Hard Hat for client Anderson, a leading contractor and developer in the East.

Satsuma Managing Director Ellen Widdup said: “We have been blown away by our incredible award success in the last few weeks but the icing on the cake was being named the best agency of our size in the region.

“We have been running for just over a year and in that time we have built up an impressive team of incredible experts and a raft of exciting clients in a range of fascinating sectors.

“This award is testament to our hard work and dedication and the ambition and talent of our staff.

“Satsuma is an agency unlike any other, with our team spread across the UK and a completely remote, flexible approach. This model has allowed Satsuma Group to gather some of the brightest and most innovative minds in PR and marketing, to build a team which delivers exciting, innovative and creative work.

“You can see the result of some of this work in the multi-award-winning Hard Hat magazine.”

The CIPR Pride award for The Hard Hat is the second award the magazine has won in a week – also receiving an Award of Excellence in the Institute of Internal Comms Awards.

In addition, it has been named as a finalist in the highly prestigious national Construction Marketing Awards in the Best Stakeholder and Internal Communications category.

The accolade is a joint entry between Satsuma and Anderson.

Andrew Jay, CEO of Anderson said: “Our productive working relationship has led to the creation of a ground-breaking publication – The Hard Hat – that celebrates our business successes and our people.

“The team at Satsuma have worked on every edition from its inception – improving and enhancing the product as we evolve and increasing pagination to include the growing number of incredible stories from our team on site to our staff in the office and from our contractors, our clients and our suppliers.

“It’s constantly praised by the thousands of people who read it and I am immensely proud of the magazine and all it stands for.”

Satsuma provides a full-service, solutions-focused, result-driven approach to PR, internal communications, content strategy, design and development, social media strategy, and digital marketing support.
