RentMy is a peer-to-peer rental platform that lets people rent anything, from anyone, anywhere.
Billed as the “Airbnb of everything” it allows people to make money from things they own, making otherwise unused items into profitable assets, while allowing others to access items or new experiences. This approach helps the environment by reducing consumption.
RentMy was started by Tom West who boasts a background in innovation and start-ups.
In his 20s, he created and developed a same-day home delivery network for convenience stores, years before Beelivery, Getir or Deliveroo – and successfully sold it to a national chain.
In recent years, he created Jolly Good Pubs, which runs the award-winning Red Lion pub in Manningtree, Essex, as well as three other sites on the Essex and Suffolk borders, focused on bringing pubs back to the heart of the community.
As well as his background in business, Tom is hugely passionate about local community issues and championing the sharing economy – empowering people to use existing resources and reduce waste.
RentMy has been rolled out across East Anglia and now, thanks to new investment, the platform will be rolled out across the UK and internationally in 2023.
The company is set to become a key player in the rapidly growing sharing economy in the UK: empowering people to utilise existing resources and reduce waste.
Our team has worked with RentMy since January 2022, when we were asked to raise the profile of the company during the pilot stage and as it was rolled out regionally.
Our work is linked to the company growth strategy which focuses on a series of short- and long-term objectives and a full SWOT analysis.
The immediate goals – achieved – were refining the platform to deliver rigidity and scalability, expanding the hyper localised deployment and refining and defining the brand.
Medium to long-term goals will include domestic expansion, international expansion and sector segmentation with specialist solution delivery.
Since the platform launched it has had thousands of people across East Anglia sign up and 10% week-on-week growth.
Thereis a significant rise in sign-ups when RentMy is featured in the media. We have secured coverage for RentMy in regional media including the East Anglian Daily Times, Ipswich Star, Elite magazine, UK Director magazine, Colchester Gazette, and the Harwich and Manningtree Standard.
Founder Tom West has been interviewed on BBC Radio Suffolk and tech podcasts.
“Satsuma has the vitamin C to supercharge your business! They peel away the worries about PR breaking it into manageable segments to help your zesty growth.”
