Noise Solution is an internationally recognised social enterprise providing digital youth work, which pairs professional musician mentors with at-risk young people.Â
The organisation, based in Bury St Edmunds, runs online and in-person sessions, where musicians use music technology – in particular beat making – as a tool to improve participants confidence, motivation and well-being.Â
The sessions are aimed at young people facing complex issues such as school refusal, disruptive behaviours, looked after children struggling to thrive, attendance, lack of motivation, low self-esteem, low engagement, neurodiversity, anxiety, depression and students at risk of exclusion.Â
Satsuma started working with Noise Solution in early 2022, when the organisation received a grant for a marketing push aimed at encouraging more referrals to its programme.Â
Our objectives were to raise awareness of Noise Solution through local media, demonstrate the value of the service to schools, academy trusts, local authorities, and families, and to celebrate case studies and success stories.Â
We have secured coverage on Noise Solution in the East Anglian Daily Times and Suffolk Live, as well as an interview on BBC Radio Suffolk live from the Noise Solution studio.Â
A powerful feature on BBC Look East told the story of one of the young people and the impact the organisation had had on her life.Â
We have also worked with PwC after Noise Solution scooped the award for Impact in Social Enterprise (in association with the School for Social Entrepreneurs). PwC offered Noise Solution its expertise to develop its brand and we were involved in a series of workshops to facilitate this.
“Our work with Satsuma has been a breath of fresh air. Exceptionally professional and with an ability to dig deep into – and understand – our perspective. They achieved great results quickly, including TV coverage within weeks of starting. Highly recommended.”
