Satsuma started working with Fresh Air Events in 2021 to promote its brand new outdoor events in Suffolk – Halloween on the Hills and Christmas on the Hills – immersive children’s trails focused on two big calendar dates.
Fresh Air Events is put together by a group of filmmakers, which include a Netflix movie director who has worked on award-winning films and music videos, and its trails involve special effects, holograms, movie like sets and projectors as well as a host of spooky props to bring “modern magic” to 34-acre parkland in Woodbridge.
A cast of monster models were also built for the occasion which raised money for East Anglia Children’s Hospice (EACH).
Our work included branded social media posts across multiple platforms and shared into local Suffolk Facebook groups for maximum exposure, as well as local PR.
We capitalised on Fresh Air Events success with an open-air cinema at Seckford Hills that included a sing-along version of The Greatest Showman and a special screening of The Dig.
We also used the team’s success with its House of Horror in Brentwood, Essex, which sold out after they created 13 themed room experiences which ranged from the child-friendly to extreme horror that involved the signing of a waiver.
The event became the backdrop for the Halloween episode of The Only Way is Essex which saw the entire cast dress up to escape from one of the most challenging rooms in a one-hour episode of jump scares.
The work on promoting Halloween on the Hills saw several sell out days on site and led to a continuation of our work on promoting the Christmas event. Our role here was also to promote a charitable partnership with EACH hospices and to offer a free one-day early opening to the event exclusive to families and staff from East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices.
