A business overview
Protium is a full value chain green hydrogen energy solutions provider. They develop, own and operate renewables and green hydrogen infrastructure and deliver dedicated zero emission energy services to customers.
They identify, design and secure access to the optimum mix of energy solutions with the aim of using green hydrogen in tandem with other solutions (such as batteries, energy efficiency and digital tools), to allow businesses to move towards net zero greenhouse gas emissions.
Our Work
We developed a marketing strategy aligned to the key aims and objectives of the business and linked to their three core verticals; green aviation, consumer facing industrials, and commercial transport.
Key to the success of securing national coverage and raising the reputation of the company was developing and cementing relationships with target journalists and publications. This involved face-to-face meetings with 20 national and trade journalists and creation of a warm hotlist to approach with breaking news or to piggy-back on the national news agenda around green energy.
Our work with the Hydrogen Energy Association allowed cross-pollination of opportunities for both organisations and we worked closely with the Protium team to develop their own pipeline of stories, building the profile of the organisation and developing its thought-leadership while celebrating launches, projects and skills within the hydrogen space.
Our work included trade coverage in the Hydrogen Economist, Hydrogen Insight, renews, Fuel Cells Bulletin, H2 View, Renewable Energy Magazine, Tank Storage Magazine, Renewables Now, Gasworld, Energy Engineering and Energy Digital Magazine.
Over a six-month period, we secured coverage in The Times, Forbes, Financial Times, and Bloomberg.
The Forbes article alone attracted 6 million views with 13,000 social engagements while the feature in The Times and Sunday Times had a potential readership of 1.35 million and featured online as well as in print.

Protium sought our help to dramatically raise its profile and reputation in national, trade and specialist media and position its key spokespeople as the “go to” for conversation in the net zero debate. We worked closely with their lobbying team and social media lead, but our remit was solely based around cultivating media relationships and creating opportunities to speak.
