Great Tythe Barn
The transformation
More than just a website redesign
Great Tythe Barn’s existing website had grown organically over time, resulting in duplicated content, complicated user journeys, outdated imagery and inconsistent messaging. Crucially, the team was also reliant on external support to make even routine website changes.
We started by going back to the customer journey.
The entire structure was reconsidered to make it easier for different audiences to find exactly what they needed, whether they were planning a Cotswold wedding, looking for somewhere to stay, organising a celebration or searching for a distinctive corporate venue.
Clearer navigation, stronger calls to action and dedicated conversion journeys were then combined with a completely new visual direction designed to feel elegant, warm, aspirational and unmistakably Great Tythe Barn.
Our website partnership
Satsuma brought together different disciplines from across the team to deliver the project from beginning to end.
Our web team handled UX, design and development, while our in-house writers undertook a complete rewrite of the website – creating a consistent tone of voice across a substantial site covering weddings, packages, FAQs, real weddings, events, corporate bookings, accommodation and the story behind Great Tythe Barn.
The new messaging positions Great Tythe Barn as a premium Cotswold destination while retaining the warmth and personality of a long-established family-run venue.
Results
A digital presence worthy of the venue
The new Great Tythe Barn website brings the digital experience in line with the experience guests encounter when they arrive at the venue.
Large-scale photography and video have been given room to breathe, while tighter copy and clearer page structures allow prospective customers to understand the offer without being overwhelmed by information.
Importantly, the website now recognises that Great Tythe Barn is much more than a wedding venue with extensive accommodation, private celebrations and corporate events given clearer journeys of their own.
Meeting objectives
By combining brand strategy, UX, web design, development and journalist-led copywriting, Satsuma transformed an outdated website into a premium digital sales and marketing platform that better reflects Great Tythe Barn today – while giving its team the freedom to manage and evolve it for the future.

Great Tythe Barn is an established, family-run wedding and events venue in the heart of the Cotswolds, with more than 30 years of history, beautiful on-site accommodation and a reputation for creating unforgettable celebrations.
Following a major refurbishment and wider brand refresh, the venue itself had evolved – but its website had been left behind.
Great Tythe Barn approached Satsuma to completely rethink its digital presence, creating a website that better reflected the quality of the venue, appealed to its target audiences and worked much harder as a sales and marketing tool.
The result was much more than a new look.
We restructured, redesigned, rebuilt and rewrote the entire website, combining strategy, UX, design, development and copywriting to create a premium, image-led experience that guides visitors seamlessly through weddings, events, corporate bookings and accommodation.
